The Ohio General Assembly has set April 28 as the final day of the 2020 Primary Election. Voting by Mail has been extended through April 28, 2020. You must submit an absentee vote-by-mail application to receive a ballot in the mail. Click here for details

The ballot includes a number of candidates running for local, state and national office, as well as several local issues.

In Hamilton County, voters can choose from the following ballots: Democratic/Issues, Republican/Issues, Issues Only. Voters in the 1st Congressional District may also select Libertarian/Issues.

Diana Mairose, an HCDDS advocacy adviser, offers these tips each election to encourage voters, especially those with disabilities, to know and exercise their rights. You can reach out to her via email or at (513) 559-6636 with questions.

    • You can vote if you are registered and at least 18 years old by Election Day. If you are 17 years old, registered to vote and turning 18 on or before Nov. 3, you may vote in the primary for the selection of candidates.
    • If you have a guardian, you may still vote. You can ask your guardian or family member to support you when you vote, either at the polls or at home.
    • If you vote in person, you must have an ID or information with your name and current address listed, such as a bank statement, paycheck or utility bill.
    • If transportation is difficult, you may also vote at home using an absentee ballot. You can then mail your ballot back to the Board of Elections or drop it off in person. More information about absentee ballots is on the Hamilton County Board of Elections website or by calling (513) 632-7000.
    • Another resource is the Ohio Secretary of State's website. You can also call (877) 767-6446 for information. They also have a Voter Access Guide for people with disabilities.
